A significant idea introduced in the book was animal abuse. Ben was afraid that others thought his family was abusing Zan- since he was brought to their family for experimental purposes. It is evident that animal abuse is unethical in today's society. Unfortunately, millions of animals suffer from animal abuse every year. Though it may not seem like it, animals are just like us. Because one cannot speak, does not mean they do not have feelings. It is time for us to protect the animals, as well as their habitats.
